Fun event for your family!
Family Engagement Game night happened Friday at McKinley ABC and was so much fun!! Students and family members played lots of outside games, sidewalk chalk and enjoyed popsicles.
Such a fun ABC! Denise Liby and Mary Hildebrand, Ike Educators, showed McKinley ABC students games that Ike played as a kid. They included: marbles, dominoes, war and slap Jack.
Don't forget our Halloween Costume drive tomorrow at McKinley! Come pick out a free costume between 8:30-9:30am tomorrow morning or Friday afternoon from 12:45-2:00pm! Our 3rd grade McKouncil members will help you pick out a great costume!
McKinley had a visit from our Abilene Firefighters today as we learn about Fire Safety this week! We learned about the importance of not being afraid of firefighters if they come into your home and making sure you have designated a meeting place if you have to evacuate your home!
Come shop for a FREE Halloween Costume at the McKinley Halloween drive on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon of this week!! We have lots of elementary aged boy costumes!!

McKinley students started their day off with being greeted by four legged friends and the Abilene Animal Hospital! Thank you for the joy you brought our students this morning!

We would love to have more children's Halloween costume donations for our Costume Drive next week!! Drop them off anytime at our McKinley School Office before next week on Wednesday! Come and shop next week on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon for a free costume!
At McKinley, we focused on our district core value of RESPECT during the month of September! M. Bowers, K. Kroeker-Jones, and Mrs. McDonald were our two students and one staff member who won the RESPECT award from a list of many nominations this month! Congratulations! October's focus is on COOPERATION!
McKinley Site Council is treating staff and teachers to a day of snacks as a "thank you" for all you do!! Our staff is very appreciative of this kind gesture from our Site Council!!

Today our PK-5 students celebrated Constitution Day by reading about our Constitution, doing an escape room activity to learn facts about our Constitution, and our youngest learners painted their own flags!
Our 3rd grade McKinley McKouncil is hosting a Halloween Costume Drive! Please consider donating a new or gently used children's costume or come and pick one out for your child!

McKinley Intermediate School would like to thank Lorie Flippo's family for the generous Memorial donation for our new swing in her name. This is a great addition to our playground and will benefit future students for years to come!
Let me introduce you to our 1st quarter McKinley McKouncil members: Cash Martin, Camdyn Milican, Gunner Bohannan, and Everette Seematter. These four students are showing their leadership skills already as 3rd graders by taking on new roles school-wide at McKinley and planning an upcoming Halloween Costume Drive for our community! They enjoyed donated Happy Meals by our local McDonald's for our first McKouncil meeting!
