📖 Tuesday, September 9: Longhorn Schedules Start
Tuesday marks the first day of the year where students will have a Longhorn schedule. On Longhorn days, students receive additional support for reading and math based on individual needs. Longhorn schedule will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday with STAR schedule taking place on Monday and Thursday.
🏐 Tuesday, September 9: Volleyball
7th Grade Volleyball will play at home with games starting at 4:30.
8th Grade Volleyball will play at Riley County with games starting at 4:30.
🏈 Thursday, September 11: Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country
7th/8th Grade Football will be playing at home vs. Wamego. 7th grade game starts at 4:30 with the 8th grade game following starting at approximately 6:15.
7th/8th Grade Volleyball will be playing at home vs. Wamego with games starting at 4:30.
AMS Cross Country will be at Holton with races starting at 4:00.

Congratulations to our September Staff Member of the Month - Mr. Weishaar!
Staff Member of the Month is voted on by students, and students are given the option of sharing why they believe their chosen staff member deserves recognition. Along with being kind, caring, and funny, these are some of the things that students had to say about Mr. Weishaar:

“He was really encouraging when I did my speech in music appreciation.”
“He deserves it cause he always works hard on the first start of the year.”

AMS Parent Planning Committee Meeting will be Monday, August 25 at 5:30 in the AMS Library. This is our version of Booster Club, and we need as much help as we can get. The office staff is officially back! And today was a good day to make a cute bulletin board for our amazing Longhorn teachers. Can’t wait to see them the week after next…and the students soon after 🧡💙
We are sad to see them go but forever grateful for the impact they have had over decades working with Abilene students. Congratulations to our retirees! 🧡💙
