The Kansas State Department of Education mandates that all accredited schools administer both the ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 to incoming kindergarteners and preschoolers. The ASQ helps teachers understand students' developmental milestones, ensuring classrooms are equipped to support their success. Ms. Beckley‘s first grade class came to read to Mrs. Demars’ kindergarten class on Friday. Each class took turns reading to one another. Maizy was our special visitor and enjoyed the reading as well!

Congratulations to the Abilene Cowboy basketball team on qualifying for the State Basketball Tournament! Their first-round game is scheduled to be played at 6:00 p.m. this coming Wednesday. The timing of this game obviously conflicts with our first evening of parent-teacher conferences. With this in mind, we are going to move our first day of conferences from Wednesday to Tuesday this week. School will be let out 2-hours early on Tuesday and parent-teacher conferences will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The band concert scheduled for Tuesday evening will begin 30-minutes later than originally scheduled to 7:30 p.m. We will have a full, regular day of school on Wednesday. There will be no ABC afterschool program on Tuesday or Thursday.
We understand some individual family plans may need to be adjusted with this change. We appreciate your understanding. Please call or email your school's principal if you need to reschedule.
