"Changing Directions for Student Success"
The mission of the Virtual School is to change the academic and personal direction for students so they will achieve academically and socially, primarily through professionally supported learning, relationships with a caring adult by giving back to the community. Students will grow to graduate and become successful citizens.
Ages served: Grades 7-12
Special Services
In accordance with state and federal law, students will not be barred from transferring to AVS based on a disability, IEP/504 services, or ESOL, migrant, or homeless status. A student receiving these services through AHS or AMS will continue to receive these services while enrolled in AVS. Services may be adjusted through appropriate means (such as an IEP team meeting) in order to continue meeting the student’s needs in the virtual setting. Students will not be required to attend any special services in person if those services can reasonably be provided in the virtual setting.
