Description of Program

Abilene Middle School, 4-H, Ministeral Alliance, Asset Building Coalition, Arts Council of Dickinson County, Abilene Parks and Recreation, and Memorial Hospital Fitness Center are partners in the after school program.  This program is designed for students who have working parents that are not home when their students arrive after school.

Mission

The Abilene after school    program’s intended mission is to provided services to kindergarten through 8th grade children that enhance their academic, social, cultural, and recreational opportunities.

Goals:

1:  Tutoring: One on one tutoring provided to students who need extra help in class.


2: Homework:  A teacher and mentor will be abailable for students to get help with homework.


3: Students will be given opportunities to participate in health and fitness activites, art activities and character education.


4: A variety of services will be provided to parents.  Parent meetings will be held to discuss various topics.
