AHS will have on-going construction in the former parking lot for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year.   Below is a birds eye view of parking considerations at AHS for the upcoming school year.  Please know that all saftey is the first order of business, and that students should allow for additional time in arriving and departing.  Please read this newsletter that was sent out as well.

Areas Marked as A, B, or C is for student parking.  Area's labeled 1, 2, or 3 is for staff parking.

The fall athletic season for football, volleyball, girls tennis, and cross country begins on Monday, August 17. Please know the following.

1. The fall sports parent's meeting will be on Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 in the AHS auditorium. Topics relating to all sports, parking updates, and other general information will be covered by the athletic/activities director to start the meeting. This will be followed by sport specific breakout sessions where coaches from each sport will present information.

2. ALL participants must have a current KSHSAA physical (dated since May 1, 2015), concussion awareness form, medical information form, and rules consent form on file with the AHS office prior to being able to practice. (Participants are expected to attend practices and watch if they do not have all paperwork completed.)

3. NEW THIS YEAR-----All participants in KSHSAA athletics, cheer, and dance must watch the video "Concussion in Sport" prior to being allowed to practice. This only has to be done once per year and documentation must be on file with the AHS athletic office prior to being allowed to practice.

Here are two ways this can be accomplished.

a. A participant can do this at their convenience by logging on to www.nfhslearn.com, registering themselves, and watching the video "Concussion in Sport." This is an interactive video. At the end the participant will be given the option to print a certificate of completion. This certificate will serve as documentation of completion when presented to the AHS athletic office.

b. Large group viewings of video will be shown on the following dates and times. Attendance will be taken and serve as documentation. The video must be watched in full to be counted.

Friday, August 14 at 8:00 a.m. in AHS auditorium.
Friday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. in AHS Media Center
Sunday, August 16 at 6:00 p.m. in AHS auditorium
Monday, August 17 at 6:00 a.m. in AHS auditorium

c. Coaches may set team specific dates to complete this also. More information could be provided by each sport's staff.
